CLASSICAL CHINESE DRAMA IN RUSSIA

Jiang Mingyu   (Beijing Foreign Studies University Graduate student )

The dramatic text is a genre, but it differs from other types in that it is theatrical in nature. Although plays can be read as literary works, most playwrights create their works with the ultimate goal of bringing them to the stage, so the performing or theatrical nature of a play's text must be considered. Only when a play goes on stage does it fulfill its mission. Likewise, when translating a play, its theatricality cannot be ignored, or else the translation will also fail to fulfill its mission. It is the primary means of presenting the plot, portraying the characters, and realizing the theme, and it has outstanding qualities of character and action. Drama differs from other works in that the primary purpose of a playwright's work is not only to be read by the audience, but also to be performed on stage for the enjoyment of the audience. The main part of the text is dialogue, which usually consists of dialogues, monologues, and narration. The lyric is the primary means of presenting the plot, portraying the characters, and implementing the theme of the play.
