FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING IN NON-LINGUISTIC UNIVERSITIES: PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS

The article considers the organizational structure of foreign language teaching in a non-linguistic university, as well as the peculiarities of the instructional process, and the contradictions faced by both, teachers and students. Based on the latest observations on the issue, as a result of the research carried out by the authors at the technical university, solutions for overcoming contradictions include the aspects of the educational process organization, the formation of sociolinguistic content of the curriculum and the teaching materials, and the development of future specialists’ professional competencies.
