LEXICAL PECULIARITIES OF FAIRY TALE TEXT: THE EXPERIENCE OF COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS (PART II)

This article is a continuation of the study of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy-tale text in two languages from a cognitive and pragmatic points of view. The purpose of the work is to find examples of adjectives and the author's classification of thematic parameters on interesting examples taken from translation tests in two languages. The authors of the article solve the following tasks: 1) comparative analysis of the linguistic features of the texts of the work – in English (translation of Pat Shaw Iversen) and Russian (translation of Anna and Peter Hansen); 2) presentation of the most interesting examples; 3) semantic interpretation of the selected material. The novelty of the research is in the attempt to systematize the data obtained in the process of studying translated versions of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy-tale text in two languages in a comparative way. Such methods as: 1) continuous sampling; 2) comparative, 3) classification, 4) quantitative calculation and 5) interpretative were used. So, the lack of accuracy in the transfer of lexical units in translated works requires additional research in the direction.
