This article is devoted to the interfering influence of the native language of students on the design of Russian speech in the process of learning Russian as a foreign language by Chinese students. Having characterized the term “interference” in the linguistic context and in the context of foreign language teaching methodology, the author of the article stops four types of interference – phonetic, grammatical, lexical and national marked ones. Analyzing the peculiarities of these types of interference, the author of the article identifies the typical errors encountered in the speech of Chinese students and determines causes and ways of their elimination. The author of the article comes to the conclusion that the study of interfering influence of students’ native language allows the teacher not only to foresee errors of different levels in students' speech, but also to take measures to prevent them.
