The article raises the problem of forming a method of studying Russian proverbs and sayings by Iranian-speaking students, which takes into account the points of intersection of Russian-Iranian linguocultures and this realizes the principle of relying on the native culture of students. It is noted that the use of proverbs and sayings has didactic value, because they contribute to the effective learning of lexical material, as well as overcoming psychological barriers in students’ interpersonal communication.
