The article is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the process of colonization of the East as one of the factors that led to Russia's territorial claims in the Far East in the context of Russian-Chinese relations. The study reveals the essence of the factors that formed this process. As a result, it was determined that the cumulative effect of all the factors under consideration formed the process of colonization, which, in turn, influenced Russia's foreign policy activities in the region.
