METHODS OF CONDUCTING PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASSES AT THE UNIVERSITY THROUGH THE GTO PRISM

The article reveals an actual problem of implementing methods for conducting classes with students mastering the standards of the physical culture and sports complex «Ready for Labor and Defense» – a set of physical exercises, standards and sports disciplines for citizens of all ages. The program consists of several stages, each of which includes exercises for endurance, flexibility, speed capabilities and coordination. The participant must fulfill some of the standards; several types of exercises can be chosen at will. The research methodology is based on a systematic approach and includes the methods of the general scientific group (analysis, synthesis, generalization, systematization), as well as a number of special methods: historiographical analysis of scientific literature; the method of non-participant pedagogical observation; the method of comparative analysis. Based on the research results, the author came to the following conclusion: the GTO complex (Ready for Labor and Defense) as a voluntary test aimed at checking the physical condition of the body, allows you to identify the effectiveness of physical training of students of a modern university within the framework of the methodology of conducting physical education classes.
