Musical works are an instrument of cultural expression and a way of influencing the mass consciousness. This kind of art, as the main component of educational activity, earned its attention in Russia and foreign countries several centuries ago, even before the advent of writing. For many centuries, folklore remained the fundamental component of culture – melodies and songs absorbed the history of the people and its development, being a "chronicle" in each epoch. Thus, the spiritual formation of society began to be reflected in musical compositions. Moreover, the authors of musical works began to adapt their works to the audience in order to achieve such goals as: observance of traditions and customs, celebration of significant events, patriotic education, development of erudition, expansion of competencies and intellectual abilities, as well as leisure time. The educational and leisure aspects of listening to or performing various musical works began to help solve such existential tasks as expressing the problems of the era, forming meaningful life orientations, understanding spiritual and social values, harmonizing intrapersonal states and interpersonal relationships, and a catalyst for spiritual tension. As a result, today music contributes to the formation of the spiritual foundations of intrapersonal potential and the harmonization of interpersonal relationships, as well as overcoming the existential vacuum.
