Support and accompaniment of students of psychological and pedagogical classes at universities is an urgent task for continuous additional pedagogical education. In this regard, the authors of the article actualize the problem of searching for new forms of mentoring in pre-professional training of pedagogically gifted schoolchildren. The article emphasizes that the conceptualization of original mentoring solutions ensures professional self-determination, the formation of pedagogical knowledge and skills, as well as a personalized position in choosing an individual style of pedagogical activity. The purpose of the study is defined as a theoretical and practical justification and development of the mentoring model "student-pupil" in the system of continuous pedagogical education. The main results of the study are related to the consideration of the psychological and pedagogical meaning of mentoring in the process of professional self-determination, taking into account the parameters of career guidance choice and the degree of individualization and personification of pre-professional training in the system of continuous pedagogical education. Based on the ideas of a participatory approach, functional roles of mentors in the process of effective interaction between students and pupils of specialized classes are proposed. The developed conditions for the implementation of the described model will contribute to the effective implementation of the research results in the practice of educational organizations. The ideas presented by the authors can serve as a basis and source for determining measures to support pedagogically gifted schoolchildren in the context of pre-professional training for the purpose of their professional self-determination and achieving a personally significant result of future professional activity.
