APPLICATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGES

The article is devoted to the analysis of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching foreign languages, with a focus on AI tools that can improve the effectiveness of the educational process. Thus, the main approach is to use intelligent systems to analyze errors, provide feedback and assess language skills, using research as an example, the author determines that tools such as computer-aided language learning (CALL) systems provide individualized recommendations and automatic error correction, improving performance acquisition of a second language. Interactive platforms such as Duolingo and Babbel are considered, which use machine learning algorithms to change educational materials to the needs of students - these platforms analyze users' progress and offer tasks based on their performance, learning style and preferences; Chatbots and virtual assistants such as Replika and Kuki allow students to practice speaking skills in real time, creating a natural language environment and providing instant feedback. The article also examines systems such as Grammarly and Pigai, which use latent semantic analysis methods to evaluate and correct written work, providing students with answers on the mechanics and semantics of their texts, and use natural language processing (NLP) algorithms to analyze pronunciation and grammar in real time. The benefits of AI in language education are highlighted, such as personalization of learning, availability of learning materials anytime and from anywhere, and reduced burden on teachers, however, he discusses existing problems such as limiting the development of students' creative and analytical abilities, ethical issues of privacy data and the threat of teaching being replaced by machines. Examples are given of the use of AI tools and their impact on various principles of language learning, such as learning grammar, developing speaking skills, improving pronunciation and listening comprehension.
