The actuality of the current research is connected with the fact that on the one hand, educators are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of fostering humane treatment to nature, on the other hand, due to insufficient integration of these themes into secondary and higher education, they have to work without reliance on the system of modern scientific data concerning interaction between people, animals and the environment. Because of this, the objective of the work is to review bioethical enlightenment activities and investigations that revealed drawbacks and contradictions in the content of education. Its tasks are to define the minuses of education revealed by enlightenment activities and investigations devoted to protection of farm animals, fur-bearing animals, laboratory animals, animals in the industry of entertainment, companion animals. In the course of the research it has been found out that due to prevailing anthropocentric approach to education specialists of different profiles in many cases don’t find it necessary and possible to search bioethically agreeable ways of solving problems concerning living beings. It has been defined that in secondary and higher education there is lack of information concerning connection between different aspects of using animals and medical, ecological, social problems, at the same time cruel practices of animal treatment that have become well-established in industry and in science are regarded as norm and inevitability; that situations leading to hardness of personality happen in the process of traditional nature protective upbringing of children; that compassion is taken for weakness with utilitarian approach to nature prevailing; that religious norms are often regarded from the anthropocentric point of view. It has been determined that career guidance work revealing the perspectives of choosing bioethically accordable directions of work has importance for changing such state of things.
