THE USE OF LINGUISTIC CORPORA IN THE PROCESS FORMATION OF STUDENTS' RESEARCH COMPETENCIES

This article examines the possibility of forming the research competence of students – future linguists of translators through working with linguistic corpora. The paper discusses the main advantages of using corpora in teaching, including the development of skills of analysis, critical thinking and independent information retrieval. Some characteristic features of students' research competence are highlighted. A series of exercises developed by the author on the basis of two corpora can be of practical importance: the National Corpus of the Russian Language and the German-speaking Leipzig language Corpus.
