The article is devoted to the role of scientific and pedagogical texts in the system of teaching foreign language teachers. The author describes the concept "scientific text", its typology and highlights the genre of scientific and pedagogical text, which is considered to be an integral component of the language and professional education of a future teacher. In the course of the work, the author states that the study of scientific and pedagogical texts allows students to expand their knowledge in the field of teaching methods of foreign languages and related disciplines, as well as develop critical thinking and analytical skills. Students are encouraged to independently search for information, comprehend new ideas, which contributes to the development of scientific activity and readiness to conduct their own research. In conclusion, the author proposes and justifies the criteria for the selection of scientific and pedagogical texts for foreign language classes.
