the article is dedicated to the comparative analysis of the concept of "hero" in English, Russian, and Bashkir folklore and literature. The focus is on examining the archetypal traits of heroes in each of the three cultures and their role in socio-cultural contexts. The analysis shows that despite the universality of the hero image as a defender of society, justice, and order, heroes in each tradition have their own unique features. In English culture, heroism often emphasizes social justice and individualism, while in Russian culture it is associated with collectivism and loyalty to the homeland. In Bashkir folklore, heroism is closely connected with nature and spiritual aspects. The article examines both traditional folklore heroes and literary characters of the 19th and 20th centuries, allowing us to trace the evolution of the heroic image. The study highlights the importance of a cross-cultural approach to understanding the common and unique features of the concept of "hero" in different cultures.
Keywords:hero, folklore, literature, English culture, Russian culture, Bashkir culture, archetype, collectivism, nature, social justice, comparative analysis, concept.
