The article highlights the problem of the low level of formation of moral ideas and ethical culture of primary school students, one of the ways to solve which the author sees in the creation of the author's notebook "From a fairy tale to mercy". With the help of the works of this genre of oral folk art, children of this age group will develop ideas about the main social roles and moral standards of a person. Due to a number of age-related features of their thinking, younger students have fertile ground for the formation of moral feelings with the help of such means that can surprise and interest.
