This article examines the phenomenon of Russian nobility in the works of F.M. Dostoevsky, with a focus on the spiritual quests of the protagonists in his later novels. The author investigates how the social status and cultural upbringing of the nobility influence the characters' worldview, their internal contradictions, and moral dilemmas. Key works, such as Crime and Punishment, Demons, and The Idiot, are analyzed in the context of the social changes occurring in Russia in the 19th century. The study highlights the significance of the spiritual searches of the characters for understanding the crisis of the nobility, as well as the impact of these processes on the literary traditions and culture of the time. The article also emphasizes the need for further research into the connection between spiritual quests and social structures in 19th-century literature.
