TRANSLATION OF CHINESE PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS IN DIPLOMATIC DISCOURSE: ON THE ISSUE OF PRESERVING NATIONAL AND CULTURAL SPECIFICITY

The article examines the specifics of translating Chinese phraseological units in diplomatic discourse, focusing on the problem of preserving national and cultural specificity. The author analyzes the main strategies and methods of conveying phraseological units used in Russian and English diplomatic texts, and identifies the difficulties that arise when adapting set expressions with deep cultural overtones. Particular attention is paid to comparing literal, analogous and descriptive translation, as well as their impact on the accuracy of conveying the original meaning and stylistic acceptability in diplomatic communication.
