CHINESE PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS AS A TOOL OF CHINESE LANGUAGE DIPLOMACY: TRANSLATION STRATEGIES

The article is devoted to the study of the role of Chinese phraseological units as an effective tool of language diplomacy of the PRC. The features of the functioning of phraseological units in diplomatic discourse are considered, the main translation strategies for their transfer into Russian and English are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the issues of linguacultural adaptation of Chinese idioms, ways of preserving their semantic load and cultural specificity in interlingual communication. The author shows that the correct choice of translation strategy contributes to the achievement of diplomatic goals, strengthening intercultural understanding and effective promotion of China's cultural and linguistic policy.
