READING -AS THE PRIMARY BASIS OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING IN A SECONDARY SCHOOL

The article is devoted to the study of the role of reading as the most important factor of modern education. The article deals with the problems of teaching reading in a foreign language in the secondary school of the Russian Federation. The purpose of the work is to analyze the process of formation and improvement of reading skills at different stages of learning a foreign language at the secondary school. The paper emphasizes the importance of teaching reading as a primary basis of foreign language learning in secondary schools. The article considers the role of reading in the formation of speech foreign language competence, and also notes the importance of reading in the intellectual development and moral education of students.
