LEXICAL AND GRAMMATICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE IMPERATIVE MOOD: A CONTRASTIVE STUDY OF THE ITALIAN AND RUSSIAN LANGUAGES

The aim of the study is to conduct a comparative analysis of the structure and functions of the imperative in Russian and Italian, to identify the main morphological, grammatical and semantic similarities and differences. The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the structure and functional characteristics of the imperative mood in the studied languages in the context of translation. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the comprehensive approach to the study of the imperative, which combines aspects of linguistic analysis, intercultural communication and correspondences in translation. As a result of the study, key similarities and differences in the imperative constructions of Italian and Russian, features of usage in each of the studied languages and translation equivalents were identified, which is of great practical importance for translation and language didactics.
