Motivation is the direction that causes the desire to learn and acquire new knowledge. The teacher should be able to motivate each student to study and support the students in learning a foreign language. For more productive work with non-linguistic university students, the teacher must accompany the students and apply various forms and methods to form and develop motivation and interest. The article presents an experimental study of the introduction of gamification elements and its impact on the effectiveness of foreign language learning. The analysis of the relationship between the introduction of gamification and the effectiveness of student learning revealed that the educational motivation of the subjects increased significantly, both in absolute and relative terms, the subjects were characterized by a high range of values of educational motivation at the control stage, while at the ascertaining stage a range of values below the average was characteristic. Such growth became possible as the introduction of gamification influenced the growth of both personal and educational motivation, the high dynamics of personal motivation gave an impetus to the development of educational motivation through the active introduction of gamification into the process of foreign language learning.
