THE GENRE OF FABLE IN THE WORKS OF SHOMAKHOV AMIRKHAN

Aim – to explore the fable heritage of the Kabardino-Circassian writer Amirkhan Shomakhov. The key research method was literary analysis. The analysis of A. Shomakhov's fables "The Rooster and the Hens", "The Magpie", "The Fox and the Wolf", "The Story of the Fox" was conducted. It has been proven that the author's fables serve as an example of Kabardino-Circassian moralizing lyrics. The results of the analysis of A. Shomakhov's works indicate that this literary genre has always played an important role in the moral and spiritual life of the ethnos. The author's fables focused on universal human problems, were characterized by topicality, relevance, and satirical sharpness. It has been established that the socio-historical conditions of life at different stages of the literary process determined the poetics of the Adyghe fable. The theoretical and practical significance lies in the possibility of tracing the ideological views of A. Shomakhov, as well as the understanding of his fable heritage as an essential component of national literature. The theoretical provisions and conclusions can be used in compiling special courses on Adyghe literature, as well as in comparative analysis of fables of different peoples of the world.
