The article is devoted to the problem of improving the economic education of workers at industrial enterprises of the Urals in the middle of the 20th century. The source base of the work is statistical data, materials of the periodical press, and documents of state archives. The authors consider the system of organizing economic studies in schools of primary, secondary and higher economic education at enterprises of the Urals in the middle of the 20th century. The article makes quantitative calculations of primary schools of economic education at enterprises, the number of students, attention is paid to the role in training in the higher level of the education system for evening universities according to the program of the course «Fundamentals of Economic Knowledge». Research methods: system analysis, generalization.
Results. Based on the analysis, it was established that the system was multi-level, subsequently there was an enlargement of the initial stage of training and an increase in the middle and higher levels, which was due to the desire of trained students to continue studying economic issues further. To improve the work on economic education, new teaching methods were used in economic courses related to the use of active teaching methods (theoretical and problem-based seminars).
Conclusion. The authors come to the conclusion that the management of the Ural enterprises built a special system for organizing economic education for workers, which is characterized by multi-level, using active forms of study.
