The article explores the musical component of the Petersburg Text as a cultural phenomenon spanning the 18th to the 21st centuries. It analyzes genre forms through which the image of the city is represented, including cantatas, romances, operas, ballets, symphonic works, Soviet mass songs, and rock poetry. The study shows that each historical period generates its own sonic model of St. Petersburg, ranging from heroic and romantic to mystical, elegiac, and protest-oriented. The methodological framework combines cultural and comparative approaches with the principle of the synthesis of arts. Special attention is given to the pedagogical potential of musical material in teaching literature in upper secondary school and in supplementary education. In the classroom, music serves as an emotional and cultural context for literary texts, while in extracurricular activities it becomes an independent artistic text and a basis for project-based learning. The integration of musical texts contributes to developing students’ critical thinking and cross-cultural literacy, while reinforcing regional identity and preserving cultural memory.
