The relevance of the research topic is due to the growing interest in Russian piano music of the early XX century in the context of international music education, in particular, in the People's Republic of China.
The research goal is to identify the necessary pedagogical conditions for the effective mastery of works for piano by Russian composers of the early 20th century in musical and theoretical aspects aimed at students from the PRC.
In the study the following objectives were solved: the analysis of the historical and cultural context of the creation of piano works by Russian composers of the early XX century and its impact on the musical language was carried out; the features of piano works by Russian composers of the early XX century (harmony, texture, rhythm, form) are revealed; and also the difficulties that arise for students from China in mastering the musical and theoretical aspects of Russian piano music were identified.
In the study, the following methods were used: theoretical analysis of scientific literature on the history and theory of music, on the pedagogy of music education; the method of comparative analysis of piano works by Russian composers of the early XX century; the formal-logical method and art historical analysis.
Conclusions are: effective mastering of works for piano by Russian composers of the early XX century in musical and theoretical aspects by students from China is possible if a number of pedagogical conditions are met, including: taking into account the national and cultural features of the perception of music by Chinese students; emphasis on the historical and cultural context of the creation of works; the use of methods of comparative analysis with samples of Chinese music; development of specialized educational materials that take into account the linguistic and musical traditions of the PRC and the use of interactive forms of education.
