AUDIOVISUAL TRANSLATION IN JAPANESE LANGUAGE

The aim of the study is to identify how audiovisual translation helps in teaching a foreign language, and in particular, Japanese. The article examines the difficulties and most common mistakes that students encounter when translating and dubbing audiovisual material from their native language into a foreign language. As an example, the authors chose the animated film “The Adventures of Kuzya the Brownie” (1985). The scientific novelty of the study is that the authors of the article for the first time turn to the animated film “The Adventures of the Kuzya the Brownie” to carry out a clear systematization and visual division of the most frequently encountered errors when working with dubbing. The study found that audiovisual translation is an effective method in language teaching for the application of all acquired knowledge, skills and abilities by students, and an opportunity to introduce students to the difficulties that arise during translation.
