SPIRITUAL FREEDOM OF RUSSIANS: SOVIET TIMES, PERESTROIKA, MODERNITY

Fetisova Evgeniya   (PhD, Associate Professor, Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Pacific State University”, Khabarovsk)

The article attempts a comparative analysis of the spiritual freedom of Russians as a fundamental value in Soviet times, the perestroika period and at the stage of modernity. Since the degree of freedom directly depends on censorship, and censorship regulates media freedom, the author examines the problem of transforming spiritual values through the topic of media. The article makes an important conclusion that despite the uniqueness and dissimilarity of the declared historical periods, the continuity of generations in the spiritual sense has been preserved, that spiritual freedom is a fundamental value for Russians and determines their quality of life. That is why today it is so important to analyze the content of the main ideological concepts of the past, to extract from them traditional Russian spiritual values and weave them into a single semantic paradigm at the present stage of Russia’s development.
