The article discusses the problems and experiences of the formation of historical and social memory among students. The relevance of the research is determined by the need to develop effective methods of preserving the memory of historical events, examples of heroism of compatriots, labor exploits, achievements of our country, turning them into value orientations for the formation of a sense of pride in their Homeland. The article describes the possibilities of enriching the learning process of future specialists through the use of a number of technologies: project-based learning, personality-oriented, digital methods of theater pedagogy, etc. The authors analyze the importance of historical science in the development of national identity through knowledge of the history of their Homeland. The special role of history in fostering patriotism among students, forming the desire to defend their Fatherland and multiply its achievements is emphasized. In the course of the study, the authors come to a reasonable conclusion about the importance of further creating conditions for the development of personal and creative potential of students, introducing the younger generation to the preservation of historical and social memory.
