Genetic research and history of ancient Russia

The article is devoted to the analysis the situation in historical interpretation of the facts of population genetics. Author analyzes the historiographical material in three ways: 1) the relationship of the ancient Slavs with the native Finnish population of Eastern Europe, 2) The role of genetic research in solving the “problem of Norman”), 3) The issue of genetic influence of the Mongol-Tatar “igo”.
