Polycode text in V.F. Odoevsky's literary works and letters

The article researches the polycode text in V.F. Odoevsky’s works of art and letters as representation of his creative activity. The consideration of polycode features realization in writing communication, including texts with primarily aesthetic functionality, allows to describe interrelations of message’s verbal and visual components in a specific idiostyle, to establish their dependence on the addressee’s type and his background knowledge. The analysis the polycode text functions and qualify it as a part of the author’s figurativeness.
