Koroplyasova E.   (Lomonosov Moscow State University)

The article considers the establishment of the youth movement based on the use of quantitative and qualitative analysis of the official final documents of the Council of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church. The purpose of the study is to identify the degree of a growing interest the Church shows regarding the problems of young people. The analysis enabled to define periodization of the historical process of development of the youth movement of the ROC, in which the year 2000 was important for the formation of the organizational structure of the youth work of the Church and transition for many Orthodox youth associations. The article also had to identify the main directions of work with young people, which the Church defines as a priority during the 1990s and 2000s. This includes educational, information and publishing as well as sports and recreational forms of work with young people among which sports and recreation is paid much more attention to. Despite this, the problem of a lack of scientific methods and staff of the cathedral in 2008 became the most noticeable and disputed which can be seen in the increase of the number of projects and activities.
