The inner life of the New Jerusalem Monastery

Regardless of the form of organization of the Monastery of the main purpose of the monastic life was the salvation of the soul for eternal life, the basic means - prayer and struggle with their own vices, and vows of monks included chastity, poverty and obedience. For the inner life of the Resurrection Monastery samples were coenobite Russian and Athos monasteries. Particularly significant for the New Jerusalem was a spiritual succession from the Holy Mount Athos. According to the regulations applied to cenobitic monastery. In coenobite monasteries all had in common: general clothing received from monastery warehouse, shared library, common meal, shared liturgical assembly and general labor.
