The sacred forms of assistanse in the traditional Khakas society

The Development of social work as a kind of public activity of rendering assistance and support aimed at rendering help by strong members of the community to the weaker ones in critical situations goes as far back as the tribal community system. The Khakas cults are described in this article for the first time from the point of view of socionomiâ (social practice). The help expectations included various cults, their functions covered all the aspects of the activity of traditional man: from the wellbeing of the ethnic group to the good luck at hunt ing. The Khakas deities were universal helpers, but each of them had a special area of utmost potency. The assisting power of the deities included all the spheres of traditional community’s activity: favorable weather conditions, people’s and community’s wellbeing, home protection, patronage in trade etc. Cult worship also promoted the assistance philosophy in real life in relation to the tribe and community members.
