Karnaukhova Anastasia Aleksandrovna  (Russian State Social University, senior teacher)

Color terms metaphorization in Spanish poetry (and, in particular, in the poetry of Lorca F.G., Machado A., and Jimenez H.R.) is closely related to the traditional symbolism of the color in Spanish culture and to the Catholic symbolism of color. But at the same time, Lorca, Machado and Jimenez offer unexpected solutions in the field of color terms metaphorization. Their solutions are associated with bizarre compound of color symbols with symbols of plants and trees (orange, jasmine, lemon, myrtle color, etc.), symbols of the stars (jasmine moon shuttlecocks in the poetry of Lorca), gemstones (rubies heart in the poetry of Jimenez), etc. Poets invent their own, mixed colors (starch moon color in the poetry of Lorca and whitish dust in the poetry of Machado). We speak about complex authoring metaphors, based on the combination of various symbols levels.
