On vocabulary of a modern student: an experimental research

The article raises the problem of an ability of the adequate understanding of a literary text by modern students. Such ability mostly depends on plentifulness and variety of the vocabulary size of a human and perfections of word search engines in his internal lexicon. The results obtained in the pilot research data allowed the author to raise the question of the necessity to continue vocabulary work in the process of specialist training in a higher education establishment.
