Papazyan G. S.  (post-graduate student, Sochi State University)

In developed foreign countries, volunteer opportunities are actively used to solve social problems, and its socio-economic effects are being planned and evaluated, indicating that volunteerism makes a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of countries. Widely used abroad is the pedagogical potential of volunteering: the curriculum includes a "volunteer semester", the "Voluntary Social Year" program is being implemented, etc. In Russia, the contribution of volunteerism to the development of the country, as well as the professional development and personal development of its citizens, has not been studied, Was not statistically taken into account and was not used enough. Somewhat changed the situation was the holding of the Winter Olympic Games in 2014 in Russia and a number of other mega-events (attention of government agencies turned to the accounting and analysis of indicators of volunteerism, the activities of volunteer organizations, many new volunteer organizations were created, Young people), however, the educational and personality developmental effects of volunteerism have not been studied and are not being used sufficiently. In most cases, students understand their participation in volunteer projects as a public activity, civic duty, the opportunity to acquire new knowledge, personally to see interesting events. At the same time, students practically do not view volunteerism as a significant step towards successful professional formation, employment, career, as a means of self-realization, personal and professional development. For this reason, we turned to the study of the potential of volunteering in actualizing the personal and professional growth of those who are learning.
