The forming of competencies of citizenship in the early stages of learning a foreign language for special purposes

The article discusses the need for revision of emphasis in the objectives and contents of teaching foreign languages due to the current political situation and Russia's role on the world stage. In this regard, evaluates the relevance of the curriculum requirements of state educational standards and the need to make additions in programs and curricula aimed at the development of bachelor students competencies of citizenship, contributing to the development of their sense of civic responsibility and pride for their country and its people, ability and willingness to defend the interests of the state.
