Vocabulary of Russian etymology in the French gastronomic discourse: the experience of morphological analysis

The paper presents the results of studying lexical neologisms of Russian origin in the gluttonic discourse of the French language. Systemic differences of contacting languages at the morphological level determined the specific characteristics of the adaptation processes of Russisms in the French language. The present study describes the basic laws of formation of the categories of gender and number of nouns of Russian etymology of the French language in accordance with the general directions of language development. The allo- and isomorphic characteristics of languages in contact at the morphological level which determines the choice of the assimilation model in the receptor language are discribed. The study presents a classification of formal modifications of lexical units in the process of language transfer and inclusion in a new paradigm, and prospects for further research are outlined.
