                         The article deals with grammar as one of the most important aspects of the communicative method of teaching Russian as a foreign language. The communicative method involves learning grammar on a functional and situational basis. Grammatical categories are learned not in the form of rules, but as a means of expressing thoughts, communicative intentions, for their further practical application in speech activity. The educational process is organized in such a way as to enable students to use grammatical categories in real life situations of foreign language communication.
