Foreign language professional standard as the basis of modern training

This article considers a professional standard as the basis of modern English learning. As a rule, training programs are made on its basis, a professional standard is a document certifying the competences qualification of graduates. For a teacher of foreign language, a professional standard can also serve as a guideline in creating learning technology and developing the communicative and intercultural competencies of students. The use of modern educational standards makes it possible to create a real professional activity in foreign language classes. This helps to increase students' motivation, their interest and involvement in the learning process, the development of the creative efficiency of a non-linguistic university graduates. The authors consider the effective use of the professional standard to meet the new conditions of learning on the example of the training courses “Hotel business” and “International relations”. In the era of global digitalization, it is necessary to actively introduce innovative information technologies into the educational process, including electronic libraries, distance courses and educational platforms such as Moodle (modular object-oriented dynamic learning environment). Thus, the formation of students’ professional and social competencies will be the result of consistent modeling of the subject and social educational content based on a professional standard.
