The works of I. A. Bunin reflect the original folklore culture of the traditional Russian village. The language of folklore is an essential component of culture. Lingua-folklore elements used in the works of Ivan A. Bunin, such as folklore lexis, folk idiomatic expressions, and folklore in the narrow sense, give a comprehensive picture of the life in Russian village in the late 19th – early 20th century and are regarded as visualized folklore-language materials, which contain the inner core of the authentic Russian culture under its outer linguistic shell.
