ESSENTIAL PROPERTIES OF THE DOCTOR AND THEIR IMAGE IN A.P. CHEKHOV, M.YU. LERMONTOV, M.A. BULGAKOV

The article compares the images of doctors created in their works by Russian writers of the 19th-20th centuries M.Yu. Lermontov, A.P. Chekhov, M.A. Bulgakov. It was revealed that the writers considered the most important qualities of a good doctor to be high professionalism, determined by the willingness to develop in medical science, and humanism, kindness, philanthropy. For a doctor, as the writers have shown, to remain sensitive, decent, kind-hearted is no less important than to be hardworking, intelligent and experienced. In addition, doctors are shown by writers not without skepticism, which is associated with the specifics of their profession. An important quality of a doctor is also his confidence, determination.
