The purpose of this study is to collect and study data on the dynamics of the growth of the audience of Russian universities in social networks in 2022, to determine the ratio of the popularity of social networks used by universities for the implementation of strategic communications and to collect data on the popularity of websites of leading Russian universities.
The study conducted a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the dynamics of official information resources of leading Russian universities, as well as a comparative analysis of the popularity of websites of Russian universities.
The conducted research showed that in 2022 universities reoriented from conducting foreign social networks to domestic ones, excluded social networks blocked on the territory of the Russian Federation from the list of official information resources indicated on the website. By the beginning of 2023, universities prefer to maintain pages on social networks VKontakte, Telegram, YouTube. The number of subscribers in the main social networks is steadily increasing, but so far the increase in the audience on the pages in the main social networks does not exceed the number of the audience remaining on the pages removed from the list of official pages in social networks due to the change in the status of these social networks.
