D.I. ILOVAISKY AND HIS VIEWS ON THE HISTORY OF RUSSIA IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE XIX – EARLY XX CENTURIES

The article examines the interpretation of Russian history by doctor and publicist D.I. Ilovaisky of those historical events that took place in the second half of the 19th – early 20th centuries. The relevance of writing this article lies in the fact that at the present stage of the historical development of our country, in conditions of instability, an appeal to the past is required. The scientific views of D.I. are considered. Ilovaisky on those historical events that took place in succession over the last few decades of the second half of the 19th century and culminated in serious revolutionary upheavals in the Russian Empire at the beginning of the 20th century. Based on the results of the study, we come to the conclusion that Dmitry Ivanovich Ilovaisky’s views on the history of Russia in the second half of the 19th – early 20th centuries are imbued with the spirit of monarchism. Being a supporter of national-patriotic ideology, D.I. Ilovaisky tried to support the tsarist government, especially during critical periods for the history of our country. Having established himself as a citizen and patriot, from a political point of view he sympathized with supporters of autocratic power, based on the triad of “Orthodoxy, autocracy, nationality,” and also advocated for the unity of all classes, following the path of abolition of serfdom, and considered himself an adherent of “healthy conservatism.” , however, to whom the innovations of Russian life were not alien.
