RUSSIAN-SPEAKING WOMEN'S ORGANIZATIONS IN THE USA(ETHNOCULTURAL ASPECTS OF ACTIVITIES)

The article analyzes the creation and the most important moments in the history of the development of women's organizations representing the most numerous diasporas of the Russian-speaking community in the United States - Russians and Ukrainians. The main emphasis is on the ideology in the activities of women's organizations, including the preservation of ethnocultural identity within the Russian and Ukrainian diasporas. Historical events that in one way or another influenced this process are considered as conditions for the formation of the ideology of women's organizations in immigration. Particular attention is paid to establishing the differences in the activities of Russian and Ukrainian women's organizations, their goal setting, and types of activities. The emphasis is on the active work of Ukrainian women's organizations in integrating into international and American feminist structures, as well as the development of institutional forms of cooperation with political organizations in the United States.
