This article presents the current situation of intercultural teaching and analyzes the relationship between metaphor, language and culture. From the perspective of metaphor-based language teaching, it explores possible strategies for developing intercultural communication skills, introduces metaphor analysis to improve cultural understanding, pays attention to cultural differences to enhance language authenticity, and builds a semantic network to make learning more engaging. Metaphor is a concentrated category of culture in language, an important link between language and culture, and a cognitive way of thinking. The language-culture-metaphor link is an effective way to promote language and culture learning in terms of metaphor. We believe that incorporating metaphors into the daily activities of intercultural teaching is an effective way to promote students' understanding of different cultures and develop their intercultural communicative competence.
