TRANSFORMATION OF THE MAIN CHARACTER IN THE MODERN DYSTOPIAN MODEL OF THE WORLD: LINGUISTIC AND COGNITIVE ASPECT

Our research is devoted to the role of the protagonist in the artistic model of the world in a modern dystopian story (using the example of the collection “Time's Up,” which includes thirteen stories by modern Russian writers). The relevance of the study lies in the fact that currently the type of protagonist in dystopian stories is changing; he is no longer a rebel hero. Most of the main characters in these stories can be seen as a victim hero. The purpose of the study is to identify the general characteristics of the hero-victim in the modern dystopian model of the world, to analyze his attitude to the world around him, his behavior, and the presence of dynamic mental reflection. The stated goal involves solving the following research problems: 1. Description of dystopian models of the world. 2. Characteristics of the typical traits of the hero-victim in stories. 3. Identifying the presence or absence of dynamic mental reflection of the main character. 4. Observation of the transformation of the main character’s role behavior and his place in the plot. The article uses the method of cognitive modeling aimed at identifying common features of cognitive constructs; a method of contextual analysis, which involves the study of a linguistic unit as part of a speech context, that is, that part of the text in which its semantics is realized.
