This article provides an analytical overview of the process of integrating social design into professional educational programs and educational practice in Russian universities. Special attention is paid to the importance of social projects for the formation of students' key competencies, such as teamwork, critical thinking and social responsibility. The author gives examples of successful implementation of social projects in various universities of the country, analyzes the mechanisms of implementation of design in the educational process. The contradictions and problems faced by educational institutions in the implementation of social practices are discussed. Special attention is paid to the impact of successful cases on the effectiveness of the educational process and the professional development of students. In general, the article demonstrates the need for an integrated approach to the integration of social design in higher education institutions in the context of creating a sustainable educational model focused on the practical application of knowledge and the active participation of students in solving social problems.
