The article is devoted to the problem of identifying the axiological potential of technical drawing in the professional training of future designers. The purpose of the study is to verify experimentally the assumption about the possibilities of forming value orientations of future technical designers in the process of mastering the content of the professional course in technical drawing. Materials and methods. This study used theoretical methods of scientific and pedagogical research: specific historical analysis, comparative analysis of materials on the problems of forming value orientations in the process of mastering technical drawing; general scientific methods: analysis, comparison, generalization for interpretation of the obtained data; teaching methods: project method; educational methods: example method, competition method for forming value orientations of students. A search carried out by keywords in the national information base of China and a search by keywords "formation of value orientations" in the E-library system to determine the degree of study of the problem. The empirical array of the study consists of scientific works of domestic and foreign teachers, state documents of China on the problems of education, formation and upbringing of personality. Results. The obtained results show that technical drawing, as an academic discipline, has certain possibilities for forming a system of values of future technical designers, if the work on explaining and demonstrating the significance of the above-mentioned professional values is purposefully organized.
