This work is devoted to the study of effective methods for developing students' general cultural competence in the process of teaching mathematics using an interdisciplinary approach. The author emphasizes that the integration of the historical context of science into the teaching of mathematics contributes to a deeper perception of the material and the development of students' cognitive abilities. The annotated sources consider various approaches to the inclusion of historical aspects in the educational process, as well as methods that allow combining mathematical knowledge with other areas of science and culture. The presented materials show that interdisciplinary integration contributes not only to the development of subject knowledge, but also to meta-subject and personal learning outcomes. Inclusion of historical material in the study of mathematical topics enriches the educational process, makes it more meaningful and is connected with real achievements of human thought, which, in turn, increases students' motivation to study science and contributes to the formation of general cultural competence.
Keywords:interdisciplinary approach, historical context, mathematics, general cultural competence, meta-subject results
